Amanda Sours is not your typical beginning student. A mother of three, she chose to return to school to make a change in her life for herself and her children. It was important to her to be a role model to her children - showing them that even though she worked full-time, she was able to make time for things that mattered. READ MORE“You can do whatever you put your mind to”. These words guided Surgical Tech Graduate Germille Rahman to her new career. As a 40-year-old single mother-of-two with an ailing mother to take care of herself, she stated “failure was not an option”. She rose to the occasion at Stautzenberger - expanding on the knowledge she’s already gained by being in the medical field since she was 17 years old.
READ MOREAlison, mother of three, has worked hard for this honor. When she was a teenager, she had five knee surgeries. The people who helped her were amazing, and she knew she wanted to do the same for other people. She worked hard on her degree while raising her children - how fun it must have been to all be in school at the same time! She showed great fortitude, and we are so proud of our Dean’s List graduate!
READ MOREDean’s List Graduate Sydney was drawn to the “fast pace and busy setting” of the healthcare field - and found an excellent training in our program. She remarks that the program at Stautzenberger mimicked real life, helping students prepare for the real world experience they will have after graduating with their Associate’s.
READ MOREBionca Hernandez has always known she wanted to be in the medical field - particularly in surgery. She owes that inspiration to an old softball coach. She has let nothing stop her from accomplishing this goal - including the news that she was going to become a mom during her externship!
She also had words of praise and thanks for her teacher, Theresa Miller. She couldn’t stop saying how helpful she was and how she made all of her students feel comfortable asking questions.
READ MOREWe could not be prouder of our single-mom graduate Chelsey Gaines. She worked very hard in our Surgical Technology Associate program and made our Dean’s List. She is, and should be proud, of this accomplishment because she also never missed a day of class or was even late to class! What an amazing student she was! She worked very hard to accomplish this feat, and we are proud to have her represent us in the medical field.
