Graduate Highlight - Noelle Moore
On January 24, 2019

Any dog owner could tell you how seeing wagging tails when you're feeling down could brighten your day. For some people, dogs could even change the course of their lives. After 52-year-old Noelle Moore suffered from her fifth heart attack, she knew she would have to make some lifestyle changes, including a less stressful career. She was not sure what that job would be until she received some visitors in the hospital.

“During my recovery at the hospital, I was introduced to a few four-legged volunteers who visited me every day and I believe were a big factor in my healing,” says Ms. Moore. “When I got home from the hospital, my own fur babies continued to be my inspiration to pursue a career with animals.” Once the doctor said she had recovered, Ms. Moore registered for one of our animal care programs at Stautzenberger College's Brecksville campus. “During my college journey, I learned so much about animal ethics, welfare, training, and massage, but I was drawn to the grooming from the moment April Peters, the chair and lead instructor for the program, put that first pair of shears in my awaiting little hands,” Ms. Moore recalls. “I love dogs, and I knew this was my calling.”

She completed her five-week externship at Canine Castle in Maple Heights, Ohio, and worked there after graduation. After gaining experience, she decided to become a business owner herself.  She hopes to see your beloved dogs in her salon:
