Graduate Highlight - Animal Welfare Management - Jasmine LaGesse
On July 24, 2019

Are you juggling parenting, working, and studying for a new career in animal welfare management? Maybe you want to begin a new career program but are afraid you will not have the time to complete it. Fortunately, Stautzenberger College offers a flexible animal welfare management program that allows busy students like you to complete most assignments online. You could even complete the program in as little as nine months! Jasmine LaGesse is just one of many graduates who reached her dream after earning her animal welfare management diploma.

Ms. LaGesse had a clear vision for her future. “I just want to help animals,” she says. However, she was unsure of how to overcome the challenge of “balancing work, school, and being a mom.” While family matters sometimes deter mothers from seeking new careers, it was Ms. LaGesse's children who inspired her to enroll at Stautzenberger College's Maumee Campus. “I want my kids to understand everything needs love and attention,” says Ms. LaGesse.

Encouraged by her favorite instructor, Dr. Cole, Ms. LaGesse persevered through classes such as Animal Facility Management, Client Communication, and Foundational Principles of Animal Health and Nutrition. She completed an externship at MedVet and graduated from the animal welfare management program. Currently, she works for NAMSA (North American Science Associates) as an Animal Welfare Associate.

We hope Ms. LaGesse's story inspired you.
