See how a Business Administration Diploma can establish foundational skills and how continuing into an associate degree can expand your business education.
Educational goals can evolve over time. Some students may want focused business training that can be completed relatively quickly, while others may eventually decide that additional education better aligns with their professional goals.
At Stautzenberger College, the Business Administration Diploma provides foundational business education, while the Business Administration Associate of Applied Science degree-completion program gives qualifying students an opportunity to build on previous business-related education.
Building a Foundation in Business
Stautzenberger College’s Business Administration Diploma is designed to be completed in eight months and requires 53 quarter credits. The program is offered 100% online, providing students with the flexibility to complete coursework remotely.
The curriculum introduces students to business concepts and skills in areas such as business operations, financial principles, technology, marketing, and communication. Developing knowledge across these areas can help students prepare to pursue entry-level opportunities in business-related settings.
For students whose educational goals expand over time, completing a diploma may also establish a foundation for continued business education.
When Continuing Your Education Fits Your Goals
There are many reasons someone might decide to continue their education. A student may develop new professional interests, gain workplace experience, or decide that broader business knowledge could support their future goals.
Stautzenberger College’s Business Administration Associate of Applied Science degree-completion program is designed for students who have already completed qualifying business-related education. The program builds on foundational knowledge through additional coursework in areas such as leadership, strategy, business technology, finance, and management.
Additional education does not guarantee a promotion, management position, or other employment outcome. It can, however, provide opportunities to develop knowledge and skills that may be useful when pursuing supervisory, administrative, or other positions involving greater responsibility.
Understanding the Diploma-to-Degree Pathway
SC’s Business Administration Diploma and associate degree can provide a staged approach to business education.
The diploma requires 53 quarter credits and is designed to be completed in eight months. The Business Administration A.A.S. requires 102 total quarter credits, with the degree-completion portion designed to take approximately seven months for students entering with the required prior business education.
A student who completes SC’s Business Administration Diploma and then continues directly into the A.A.S. may therefore complete the diploma-to-degree sequence in approximately 15 months when progressing as designed.
Admission to the degree-completion program is not automatic. Applicants must have a business-related diploma or certificate, meet the minimum 2.0 GPA requirement, and submit transcripts for review to determine whether their previous education satisfies program requirements.
Expanding Your Business Skill Set
Continuing into an associate degree provides an opportunity to build on foundational business concepts and explore additional areas that may be relevant to positions with broader responsibilities.
Degree-level business education may help students further develop skills and knowledge involving:
- Leadership and supervision.
- Strategic and organizational planning.
- Financial and management concepts.
- Business technology.
- Professional communication.
- Business decision-making.

Through coursework, projects, and business-focused learning activities, students can continue developing their ability to evaluate information, communicate ideas, and approach organizational challenges.
How those skills are used professionally will depend on factors such as an individual’s experience, employer, industry, location, and career goals.
An Online Approach to Continuing Your Education
Both SC Business Administration programs are offered 100% online. This format may be useful for students who want to continue their education while balancing work, family, or other responsibilities.
A staged educational pathway can also give students more flexibility in determining how far they want to take their education. Some may decide that diploma-level training fits their goals, while qualifying graduates may choose to continue into the associate degree.
Neither choice is right for every student. The appropriate path depends on an individual’s previous education, professional interests, circumstances, and longer-term goals.
