Celebrating 100 years of #StautzStrong

State and federal leaders recognized the college’s centennial during a career fair that brought together job seekers and more than 40 local employers.

Employers and potential employees alike agree: The Stautzenberger career fair was a resounding success. Over 40 local businesses met alumni and community members, providing leads and insight into hiring opportunities in the area and beyond.

But it was more than just connecting employers and employees.  “It’s about celebrating partnership, opportunity, and a hundred years of educational excellence,” explained Dr. Todd Wildey, President of Stautzenberger College.

And it underscored a truth more relevant than ever: while many people start their job searches online, careers are still built through people.

Highlight reel from the day

The day also included a formal ceremony marking the college’s centennial, and a time to reflect on what a century of Stautzenberger has meant to northwest Ohio. Dr. Wildey returned to a theme that has threaded through Stautzenberger’s century. “What makes me most proud is that after 100 years, we’re still doing exactly what our founders envisioned, changing lives through education,” he said. “Each graduate represents a family whose future has been improved. Every employer partnership represents an opportunity. Every student who walks through our doors represents hope, determination, and the pursuit of a better tomorrow.”

Stautzenberger was honored with official proclamations from U.S. Senator Bernie Moreno, the Ohio Auditor of State’s Office, the Ohio Senate, and the Ohio House of Representatives — each one a marker of what a hundred years of showing up for Ohio communities actually adds up to. Ohio Auditor of State Keith Faber’s recognition honored the college as the fourth-oldest operating vocational college in Ohio and acknowledged its century of service to the state’s workforce, a milestone Stautzenberger is deeply honored to mark alongside the leaders and the community that have supported it for a century.
