What You’ll Learn

Our Dental Assisting curriculum blends foundational knowledge with hands-on practice. From anatomy to radiography, you’ll gain essential skills through classroom instruction and lab work.

  • Dental Science: Explore oral anatomy, tooth morphology, and dental terminology.

  • Radiography: Learn proper techniques for dental X-rays, exposure safety, and image processing.

     

  • Chairside Assisting: Prepare treatment rooms, assist during exams and procedures, and manage patient records.

     

  • Infection Control: Understand sterilization standards, OSHA regulations, and safety protocols.

     

  • Dental Office Administration: Develop front desk, billing, and scheduling skills to support office operations.

     

  • 180-Hour Externship: You’ll complete hands-on training in a real dental facility, gaining practical experience in patient care, equipment handling, and team coordination.

To be eligible for enrollment, students must:

  • Be at least 17 years old. (If under 18, a parent or legal guardian must also sign the enrollment agreement.)
  • Possess a high school diploma, recognized equivalency (GED, HiSET, TASC), or qualifying college degree.
  • Demonstrate digital readiness to ensure you’re prepared to thrive in a modern learning environment.

Most programs are blended, combining scheduled on-campus classes with online coursework. This gives you the hands-on training you need — plus the flexibility to complete assignments at home.

You’ll typically take two classes every five weeks and should plan for 12–15 hours per week of homework and studying. Instructors also offer live virtual office hours for extra support.

Whether you’re working, parenting, or have other commitments — we’ll help make school work for you.

Q: Do I need previous healthcare experience?

No. This program is designed for beginners and will teach you everything you need to know. You’ll start with the basics and build your skills through guided instruction and hands-on training.

Q: Where does the externship take place?

You’ll be placed in a real dental office or clinic near your campus to complete your hands-on externship hours. This experience gives you a valuable preview of what it’s like to work in a professional dental setting.

Q: Is the Dental Assisting program accredited?

Yes. Stautzenberger College is institutionally accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC). This ensures our programs meet high standards of quality and professional relevance.

Q: Can I work while completing the Dental Assisting program?
