Build Skills in HVAC Installation, Maintenance & Repair

Our curriculum is designed to teach students the fundamentals of HVAC and refrigeration systems, with a strong focus on hands-on learning and job-site readiness.

What You’ll Learn

  • HVAC Systems & Components: Understand how heating, cooling, and refrigeration systems function, and gain experience in system installation and maintenance.

  • Electrical & Mechanical Controls: Learn electrical wiring, motors, sensors, and control systems essential for HVAC operation.

  • EPA Certification Prep: Study Clean Air Act regulations and prepare for the Section 608 EPA Certification.

  • Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose system issues and perform repairs on air conditioning, heating units, and commercial refrigeration systems.

 

Through in-class instruction and lab work, you’ll practice real-world skills and safety protocols that employers value.

To be eligible for enrollment, students must:

  • Be at least 17 years old. (If under 18, a parent or legal guardian must also sign the enrollment agreement.)
  • Possess a high school diploma, recognized equivalency (GED, HiSET, TASC), or qualifying college degree.
  • Demonstrate digital readiness to ensure you’re prepared to thrive in a modern learning environment.

Most programs are blended, combining scheduled on-campus classes with online coursework. This gives you the hands-on training you need — plus the flexibility to complete assignments at home.

You’ll typically take two classes every five weeks and should plan for 12–15 hours per week of homework and studying. Instructors also offer live virtual office hours for extra support.

Q: Is the HVAC/R program online?

No. The Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration (HVAC/R) diploma is delivered entirely on campus at our Toledo satellite location (5105 Glendale, Suite M). 

Q: What are the admissions requirements?

This program features open enrollment and uniquely does not require a high school diploma or GED, making it an accessible path for many. General admissions requirements apply, and students should check with Admissions for details like age requirements or proof of residency.

Q: Will I receive job placement support?

Absolutely. Stautzenberger College provides career services, including resume assistance, mock interviews, and job search support, helping you transition smoothly into the workforce. With small class sizes and industry-focused training, you also benefit from local employer relationships and guidance tailored to HVAC/R roles.
