Linea Banks is not your typical beginning college student.  A mom and a grandmother, she put off her dream of working in Central Sterile Processing because of her age.  Eventually, she just decided to go for it and now has successfully completed our program.  Not only did she complete the program, but due to our excellent externship program, Linea was offered a job and able to leave the job she had previously to work in her chosen field.  We’re proud of Linea and her hard work and dedication.

“I had a great time going to school since I had the chance to go online and work as well.”  These words from Taylor Goris show just one of the positives of Stautzenberger’s online program in Business Administration.  Taylor complimented all of our faculty by saying how helpful they were in making sure she understood concepts in all of her classes.

At Stautzenberger, our students are committed to not only furthering their knowledge but making a real impact on their world.  At our Maumee campus, staff, students and faculty hosted and ran a drive to provide supplies for one of our excellent partners, Lucas County Canine Care & Control.  Items were collected to benefit the dogs like blankets and towels.  But they also collected peanut butter, cheese, and hot dogs, and if you are a dog-lover, you know the importance of those items - a great place to hide medication for a beloved ill pet.

We could not be prouder of Dean’s List graduate Meagan Mallory.  She always knew she loved ultrasound - and seeing her first son on the ultrasound simply confirmed what she knew and felt all along.  She has worked long and hard as a mother of two with a disabled Veteran husband at home.  As she says, “The work was hard, but the outcome was worth it.”

“It’s never too late for new beginnings.” These words led Addiction Counseling Technician Graduate Thomas Caplea to his own new beginning at Stautzenberger.  Having witnessed addiction himself, he felt led to help others grow, change and improve their lives.  Making a positive impact is always an important choice, and Stautzenberger is proud to offer classes that help make the world a better place.

Stautzenberger is proud to present President’s List graduate Brandi Caruthers.  As a single-mother and older student, Brandi has had a lifetime to see how addiction can affect someone and how hard recovery can be.  Brandi also shared praise for our instructor, Dr. Cailyn Green as someone “who was amazing, always there for her and encouraging”.

Getting experience can be one of the most difficult parts of getting ready for a new career.  With Stautzenberger’s Dental Assisting Diploma program, you will spend no less than 160 hours working in a dental office learning with a hands-on approach.  Our coordinators will make sure that the experience offers time and practice in many specialties, such as four-handed chairside techniques and related dental assisting procedures, which makes you, as a graduate, an attractive employee.  Our externship also includes 20 hours on-campus of extra practice an

Wanting a better life for herself and her daughter, single mother Brianna Motley felt inspired to learn about dental procedures.  She credits doing well in her classes to her awesome instructor, Kathy Becker, who worked hard to make sure Brianna understood the material and that she would be able to further her career when leaving Stautzenberger.

“The character of a nurse is as important as the knowledge she possesses.”  These words by Carolyn Javis helped guide Jasmine Kelly to the nursing field.  Jasmine has always had a passion for helping people.  Her character was shown in her dedication and hard work.  During her time at Stautzenberger, she was out for four weeks with COVID complications and even spent time in the hospital.  She didn’t let her learning suffer, though.  With the help of her excellent instructors, she kept up with her schooling.

“You can do whatever you put your mind to”.  These words guided Surgical Tech Graduate Germille Rahman to her new career.  As a 40-year-old single mother-of-two with an ailing mother to take care of herself, she stated “failure was not an option”.  She rose to the occasion at Stautzenberger - expanding on the knowledge she’s already gained by being in the medical field since she was 17 years old.
