Will a robot take over your job?  Online ordering apps, self-checkout lanes, self-driving taxis, automated brick laying, and even computer-generated imagery (replacing your favorite movie star)*. 
Technology is overtaking many industries in profound ways. The good news is that there are fields which are still more suited for human workers than machines.

Below are just a few programs offered at Stautzenberger College, Maumee Campus, that can prepare you for a hands-on career:

10 Month Programs:

• Medical Assistant—How many times have you searched your symptoms online but still could not decide which illness you had? While robots can be programmed with medical knowledge, they cannot reach conclusions the way a medical assistant can. Additionally, a machine lacks a medical assistant's compassion.
• HVAC—Trained professionals are needed to determine why machines are malfunctioning. Homes and businesses everywhere rely on HVAC technicians' expertise. This program is Toledo Heating and Air Conditioning Contractors Association (THACCA) approved. After the full training is complete, 576 hours may be credited towards an apprenticeship program.
• Paralegal Studies—Computers can locate and compile information, but a paralegal is needed to decide what is important and relevant.  

16 Month Programs:

• Practical Nursing—Nurses are needed to assuage patients' fears and treat ailments effectively. 

24 Month Programs:

• Veterinary Technician—Many people would prefer humans to meet their healthcare needs, so why wouldn't animals do the same? Robots are not equipped to humanely handle rowdy and anxious pets.

24 Month Programs:

• Veterinary Technician—Pets can be difficult patients! Only a human can humanely handle an animal for treatment.
