What is Construction Administration? | Construction Administration Program

At Stautzenberger College, we are always adding new programs to our school! One of newest programs is Construction Administration. But what is Construction Administration? And what can you do with a degree in it? Let’s break down the basics of Construction Administration:

The Fundamentals
A construction administrator is in charge of planning, directing, budgeting and supervising construction projects from beginning to end. As a construction administrator, excellent communications skills are a must. You’ll have to explain the different projects, contracts and work progress to the other professionals you’ll be working with.

A Day in a Life
Construction administrators can work on different types of projects. Buildings that need work can range from schools, hospitals, residential or commercial. Construction administrators can also work with roads and bridges. Construction administrators can be responsible for more than one job at a time. For that reason, time management and organizational skills are crucial.

Workplace
Typically, a construction administrator works from an out-of-field office at the construction site. While being at the construction site, the construction administrators are able to supervise and make decisions on the construction activities for the project.

Job Growth
Demand for construction administrators is expected to grow by 15-21% through 2022 with 154,600 projected job openings 2012-2022.*

Flexibility
