We Proudly Present Practical Nursing Graduate Camille Jones
Inspiration comes from a variety of sources. For Camille Jones, the inspiration to start a medical career came from several people in her life. “My children and former manager inspired me to become a nurse,” she explains. Following their advice, Camille enrolled in Stautzenberger College's practical nursing program. Despite the challenge of being a single mother, Camille persevered in her studies and developed the technical skills necessary for her new career. She attributes her success to those who encouraged her, such as her mother and instructors. “All of the Brecksville instructors were very helpful, welcoming, and caring,” says Camille. All of us at Stautzenberger College are proud of Camille for graduating and achieving her goals!
What You Learn in a Practical Nursing Program
For each graduate of a program, we highlight three different courses. During the program, Camille took courses such as: Anatomy & Physiology 1, Critical Thinking, and Medical Surgical Nursing 1.
In these courses, she learned about:
- The normal structure and function of the human body, basic chemistry, microbiology, cell metabolism, and medical terminology
- Learning types; the application of critical thinking in her own learning environment; and online learning programs and focused remediation resources that assisted with basic nursing study, remediation, and test taking skills requisite for successful academic advancement
- The respiratory, cardiovascular, hematologic, digestive, gastrointestinal tract, metabolic, endocrine, renal, and reproductive systems; and application of the nursing process to pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients with an emphasis on holistic care in the clinical setting
