“Do it for you, not because you have to, but because you want it!” says Anndrea Mays, Stautzenberger College graduate. Ready for a new career, Anndrea enrolled in our Associate of Applied Science in Business Administration program and never lost sight of her goal. Even when the courses felt challenging, she remained determined and continued studying. “There have been times when I was too tired from work, but I kept pushing,” she recalls. After completing her externship at Capital Group in Norfolk, Virginia, Anndrea earned her associate degree. We are extremely proud of Anndrea for achieving her goal and beginning the new life she wanted.

What You Learn in a Business Administration AAS Program

Our business administration program is designed to provide students with relevant, in-demand skills. Our AAS programs go beyond by allowing students to complete an advanced level of course work in their chosen field and develop general education skill sets in areas such as English, history, and math. For each graduate of a program, we highlight three different courses. During the program, Anndrea took courses such as: Accounting for Managers, Organizational Strategic Planning, and Strategic Negotiation for Business.

In these courses, she learned about:

  • Communication and decision making within an organization (including how to understand, apply, and explain accounting information for managerial decisions)
  • Strategic planning, theories, methods, and group processes in different organization environments
  • Utilizing sales techniques, tracking sales accounts, projecting outcomes, and negotiating agreements

In addition to business-related subjects, Anndrea completed courses such as College Math and Written Communications to fulfill general education requirements for her associate degree.

How Our Graduate Entered Business Administration

Like Anndrea, you too could enter the business administration field in just a matter of months and start your career journey in this interesting and necessary profession.
