On March 29, 2022

“We see better in the dark where art and science interact.”  These words helped inspire proud mother of three, our Graduate Adrienne Yoder, to enter Stautzenberger’s Sonography program. Originally thinking she would want to help pregnant women, Adrienne was surprised to realize she had a real love for vascular scanning.  She studied hard under her favorite professor Dr. A - who in her words, “has much love and knowledge in Sonography”.  She is on our Dean’s List, and we couldn’t be prouder of her hard work and dedication.

What you Learn in our Applied Science in Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program

Sonographers work both in hospitals and doctor’s offices to take images inside of a person.  They also get the exciting job of looking at a fetus in development.  Because Stautzenberger’s program is an associate degree, you will learn general class information like Written and Oral Communication.  You will spend most of your time specializing in classes in your concentration of Sonography like Introduction to Basic Scanning, Pathophysiology, and Registry Review.  In these classes you’ll learn things like:
• Understanding basic rhetorical strategies and proper essay writing
• Preparing for professional presentations and interactions
• Preparing patients for scans and understanding screen images
• Understanding the function of cells and how the body responds to injuries
• Understanding detailed scans including fetal scans
