Mr. Mike Knitz Believes HVAC/R is Very Rewarding in Both Pay and Acquired Skills
On March 28, 2018

Ready to repair that boiler? Wish you could fix your own appliances while making a career out of it? If you are looking to start your HVAC/R training, look no further than Stautzenberger College. Our compassionate faculty members, such as lead HVAC/R instructor Mr. Mike Knitz, are dedicated to making your dream career a reality.

Mr. Knitz discovered his passion for HVAC/R as a junior at Penta Career High School. While there was much to learn, his greatest challenge was overcoming his fear of communicating with customers on service calls. However, he was able to overcome this and lead a successful career. He worked in union and non-union HVAC/R jobs for 22 years prior to becoming an instructor. The next eleven years were spent cultivating an even greater love for teaching.

Mr. Knitz was an HVAC/R instructor at Toledo public schools and Penta before joining Stautzenberger College. He has won perfect attendance awards at Toledo and Penta. He also received recognition from OMACCS as “Outstanding Faculty for providing quality education to students in an Ohio and Michigan Career College or School.” Calm, cool, and collected, Mr. Knitz accentuates his lessons with humor to keep students engaged. He loves having the privilege of showing others what a difference HVAC/R can make in their lives, just as it has for his own. The most rewarding part to him is seeing graduated students leave their mark on the world and coming back later just to say “Thank you.”

To any potential students unsure about starting down this path, Mr. Knitz believes HVAC/R is very rewarding in both pay and acquired skills. He regularly uses his HVAC/R knowledge in real-life scenarios, such as fixing a water heater at a campsite and describing to others how to conduct repairs. He sincerely hopes that those interested in this field take the time to learn more and see how it can affect their futures.
