Graduate Highlight - Medical Assistant - Ashlee Wilkerson
On January 17, 2019

Health issues could throw your whole life into confusion. Having to alter your lifestyle, make regular doctor appointments, and pay for medication and hospital bills could be a nightmare. That's why graduate Ashlee Wilkerson studied at Stautzenberger College: She wanted to help patients find solutions and feel at ease.

When Ms. Wilkerson enrolled at Maumee campus, she was certain that medical assisting was her calling. “A lot of my family have health issues that vary, so I was intrigued at a young age,” said Ms. Wilkerson. She enjoyed her time in the medical assistant classes, receiving lots of encouragement from the faculty. “I loved all of my instructors,” she says. “The few that I felt went the extra step more than once were Megan, Christina, and MaryAnn. These ladies made school fun for me! Never a dull moment in their classes.”

Ms. Wilkerson completed her externship at Pulmonary and Critical Care in Maumee through the Toledo Clinic and graduated from the medical assistant program in 2017. She is grateful that she now has the knowledge, skills, and experience to help families like her own.

We hope Ms. Wilkerson's story inspired you.
