Graduate Highlight - Kimberly Duncan
On February 28, 2019

At Stautzenberger College, our students don't keep what they have learned to themselves. Besides putting their skills into practice during their careers, many alumni return to share their knowledge and experience with current students. One recent example is graduate Kimberly Duncan.

“I graduated from the Practical Nursing program, and I am working at Mercy Health-Oregon,” says Ms. Duncan, now a licensed practical nurse. “I love Stautzenberger College, and thank you, SC!”

Ms. Duncan, along with fellow alumnus and LPN Marla Garcia, returned to Maumee campus to help the next generation of licensed practical nurses prepare for the NCLEX-PN exam. As guest speakers in the NUR160 Professional Issues in Nursing class, the two answered the upcoming graduates' questions and helped ease their anxiety over the exam. The students, who will be walking for graduation in May, learned about the joys and realities of becoming a LPN. Additionally, Ms. Garcia, who is currently completing an RN program, was able to share her steps toward becoming a registered nurse.

Congratulations to both Ms. Duncan and Ms. Garcia on their success, and thank you for taking the time to visit. We are always proud of our caring alumni who put others first. We treat our student body as family, for we believe that only together can we make a positive impact on the world.

We hope Ms. Duncan's story inspired you.
