Graduate Highlight - Dominique Carter

Are you always the first one to try something new? Learning how to play the piano or speak a different language could be difficult without any guidance. However, bigger decisions, such as whether or not to attend college, may feel impossible when your relatives have not completed any higher education and cannot offer advice. When Dominique Carter was faced with this dilemma, she decided to give college a chance anyway.

Overwhelming as the financial forms and program requirements seemed at first, Ms. Carter quickly found her way with help from our admissions and financial aid staff. She flourished in the surgical technology program at our Brecksville campus, completing all the coursework as well as an externship. Ms. Carter graduated from Stautzenberger College in September of 2018 and is currently employed by the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. She is proud to be the first college graduate in her family and encourages those in similar situations to follow their career passions as well. “Don't give up,” she says. “Always believe in yourself.”

Not all schools are the same. While some colleges may have too many students to offer much individualized attention, we are always here to talk. Our admissions staff will guide you through the enrollment process, but our assistance does not stop there. All our staff and faculty care about our students and help them determine and follow through on their goals. We even have a career services team dedicated to matching graduates with open positions in the community, arranging interviews, and giving additional long-term career advice even after graduation.

We hope Ms. Carter's story inspired you. Whether you are interested in surgical technology or one of the many other programs offered at Stautzenberger College, please come in and talk to us today to find your career passion.
