Six Benefits of Online Learning | Stautzenberger College Business Administration: Online Classes Gain Popularity
On April 21, 2016

While some programs like Medical Assisting or HVAC require a classroom environment, other subjects such as business can easily be completed online. According to the Open Education Database, there are over 3 million students enrolled in fully online classes and another 6 million taking one or more classes online. Based on this information it would seem online learning is gaining in popularity with students from all walks of life from recent high school graduates to fulltime professionals, but why are online classes so popular?

Reasons Online Classes Are Popular

Students have quoted many reasons for attending online classes, the most common being flexibility and convenience. With the growth of Wi-Fi and the number of establishments offering free hotspots to their patrons, you can attend class from home, the office, the local coffee shop or the public library. With a computer and internet access you can attend class anywhere and at any time. Besides convenience, there is a wide variety of programs to choose from. At Stautzenberger College, we offer Business, Paralegal, Medical Billing and Coding, Healthcare Administration and Construction Management to name a few. With so many options, students can usually find a program to fit their needs. Another advantage of online learning is the cost savings. It sounds crazy but you can save a great deal of money and time by not commuting, not to mention looking for parking or having to drive in bad weather. You can even complete your classes in a snowstorm or when you are not feeling the best!

My Personal Story

Having been an online student for the past several years, I can attest to the convenience and flexibility online programs provide. I have been able to complete both my bachelor and master’s degree online in much less time than attending traditional classes. I am a working adult who decided to return to school much later in life. I procrastinated for years and online learning provided the convenience and flexibility I was looking for. Now I am so glad I completed my education. It has provided me with both the knowledge and skills to advance in my career. Taking online classes allowed me to work fulltime, travel and complete my degrees in a way that suited not only my lifestyle but my busy schedule. I was never a fan of sitting in class, listening to lectures and living in a large city, and commuting was out of the question. Therefore, attending school online was the perfect solution for me. If you are thinking of completing your degree, obtaining some new skills or getting started in a new career, attending college online may be the perfect solution for you.
