On March 02, 2021

Surgical technologists play a critical role in preparing the operating room and patients for surgical procedures. Likewise, Stautzenberger College's instructors prepare you for the future during your career training. Monica Wiley, program chair for our surgical technology associate degree program, is excited to show you what a career in healthcare looks like.

Monica has over 13 years of experience as a certified surgical technologist, including five years as a surgical technologist educator. In 2007, she graduated from Sinclair Community College with her Associate of Applied Science degree in surgical technology. Upon graduation, she gained her CST certification through NBSTSA. After that, Monica acted as the program director, the clinical coordinator, and an instructor for the surgical technology program at National College in Dayton, Ohio. Monica also had the honor of working as a CST at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota and The Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. She has also performed as a trauma CST. In 2018, Monica graduated with honors from Wright State University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology.

In February 2020, Monica joined the Brecksville Campus family to oversee our surgical technology program. Setting students up for success is one of her greatest passions. Monica has always treasured her career in healthcare, and she hopes to instill the same love for surgical technology in you as well.

Since our instructors have worked in their field for years, their teachings incorporate real-life examples, making it easier to apply your new knowledge in the real-world setting.   Whether you are interested in the Surgical Technology Associate Degree Program or one of the many other programs offered at our College, please contact us today.
