On March 09, 2021

When you visit the doctor's office, don't you want the medical staff to be experienced and knowledgeable? In the same way, we believe that your instructors should be professionals who are well-versed in their respective fields. Davida A. Smith, MSN, RN has 30 years of experience in healthcare.

Currently, Davida is the associate director of Stautzenberger College's practical nursing program. Her three decades of nursing experience includes 14 years in nursing education and administration at the college and university levels. Davida holds a master's degree in nursing education and administration. She has taught for both associate and bachelor's degree programs.

Davida's nursing experience in the acute care setting includes medical/surgical, critical care, coronary care, and staff education. In the post-acute care setting, Davida participated in homecare, provided staff
education, and acted as the senior registered nurse case manager of the cardiac and respiratory team. She has held many titles in nursing education such as: Associate Director, Nursing Program Coordinator, Clinical Coordinator, Clinical Instructor, and Lab/Simulation Coordinator.

In her spare time, Davida enjoys being with family, traveling, and sewing. Her compassion for others also extends outside of the healthcare and education fields. She frequently volunteers at church events, happy to assist with the food pantry and serve meals. No matter where she is, Davida is always delighted to lend a helping hand.

Since our instructors have worked in their field for years, their teachings incorporate real-life examples, making it easier to apply your new knowledge in the real-world setting.
