Be a Great Massage Therapist
Anyone can go to school to become a Massage Therapist, but how can YOU become a GREAT one? There is a difference between being good and great. Throughout life you should always strive to do your best, especially in a career that you are passionate about. You wouldn’t go eat at a mediocre restaurant? So why only be an “okay” massage therapist? Here are some qualities that great massage therapists have:
Sounds silly, but communication is a huge factor. As a Massage Therapist, you’ll need to build rapport with your clients to make sure they feel comfortable and welcomed. If you want to create a strong clientele, it’s important that you get to know your clients.
As a Massage Therapist, you want to focus exclusively on your client and their needs. You want to provide a fantastic massage for your client, so blocking out any distractions is a must.
Every client you have is going to have different emotional and physical needs. You’ll have to pay close attention to what type of massage they are looking for and if your client has any physical injuries or a certain body part they would like special attention on.
Never stop learning! Even though you are already licensed and working in the field, it’s always important to keep up with your training. There are always new techniques to learn or material that can be reviewed again. Always strive to be the best you can be; more knowledge is power!
Just because your client walks out the door, doesn’t mean their session is over! It’s important to always follow up with your client to see how they are feeling after the massage. Seeing if they have any questions or concerns will make the client feel that their health is important to you.
You can complete your massage training in program in 12 months at Stautzenberger College. Our instructors are currently practicing, or have experience, in the massage field. We keep our classes small, so you can get the individual attention you need. Read more about the Massage Therapy program. If you would like to discuss our program with someone at the school, you can contact them by filling out our contact us form.
