Medical Technology Program Coordinates Volunteer Team at H1N1 Flu Vaccine Clinic
The Medical Technology program coordinated a volunteer team to work at the Nov. 8 H1N1 Flu Vaccine clinic held at St. Luke’s Hospital Auditorium from 2-6 pm. This effort was initiated by the Toledo Lucas County Health Department. Approximately 3,000 persons were immunized for the H1N1 virus during this clinic.
Injections were available at no charge for community members who met the following criteria:
• Pregnant women and their spouse
• All persons between ages 6 months to 9 years
• High risk individuals 10-17 years (asthma, diabetes, etc.)
• All persons 18-24 years
• Persons 25-65 years of age with chronic health conditions
• Health care and emergency medical services personnel
• People who live with or care for children 6 months old and younger
