Medical Technology Pinning Ceremony

Forty-eight Medical Technology students attended the Fall 2011 Medical Technology Pinning Ceremony on Friday, September 2, at Stautzenberger College. Students preparing to extern during fall quarter gathered to hear instructors and administrators discuss externship guidelines and processes, and to give their advice for successful externship experiences. Medical Technology Instructors presented the following awards:

1. Highest GPA – Catherine Jackson, Kaela Alexander, Sandra Ellis
2. Shining Star – Katrina Obenour, Brittany Cooper, Gretchen Scholz
3. Most Likely to Succeed – Kathy Heath, Tracy Rogers, Shelly Genaro
4. Butterfly – Beverly Wilson, Heather Myelek, Tiffany Jones

Erin King received the Beth A. Hahn Scholarship Award, established in honor of Beth A. Hahn, a certified phlebotomist who helped develop the Stautzenberger College Phlebotomy Certificate program.

Upon closing of the Pinning Ceremony, students cited the Medical Assistant’s Creed:

The Pinning Ceremony is held each quarter as students prepare to participate in their externships and to finalize their coursework in the Medical Technology Program.
