The Medical Technology Department hosted two guest speakers who talked of “The Role of the Medical Assistant in the Physician’s Office” during Medical Assistant Recognition Week.

On Tuesday, Oct. 21, Charlene Rowe, CMA (AAMA), Area Practice Manager at Mercy Health Partners, spoke to evening students. On Wednesday, Oct. 22, Sandy Witt, LPN, EMT, Office Manager for ProMedica Health Systems – Sylvania Internal Medicine, presented to a group of students (photo below).

The American Association of Medical Assistants distinguishes a week in October each year to recognize the importance of medical assistants to the health professions.
