Closed Circuit Television

Students will gain the knowledge needed to successfully design and install a basic closed circuit television (CCTV) system. The focus of this 14-hour course is on traditional methods and equipment such as analog cameras, coaxial cabling and VCRs, as well as insight into progressive and emerging technologies such as digital cameras, Network Video Recorders (NVRs), fiber optical cable and Power over Ethernet (PoE). The course includes two extensive exercises which combine in a system design based on a given customer’s specifications and building plans.

There is an additional Closed Circuit Television Exam Preparation course. The purpose of this 7-hour course is to prepare students for the NICET certification in closed circuit television and video surveillance. The course concludes with a two-hour examination.
