Veterinary TechnologyOn Wednesday, February 11th, Jennifer Norwood took her Advanced Animal Techniques class to assist with the castration of a young horse in foster care through the Toledo Area Humane Society. Castration of male horses eases behavioral issues and helps prevent future medical problems.

Stautzenberger College Veterinary Technology Instructor Dr. Laura Schmidt performed the castration while the students observed. Along with the surgical procedure the students assisted with updating vaccinations.

While enrolled in the Veterinary Technology program, students at Stautzenberger College get real-world, hands-on experiences through a series of off-site labs.
