It was another exciting day of wiener dog racing at the Third Annual Wiener
Dog Nationals on Saturday, September 23, 2006 with two divisions of racing; the
Frankfurter and Bratwurst divisions.
Defending Frankfurter champion, Ringer made it to the finals again, but failed to make a podium finish in this year's event as Patches from Toledo, OH took the top honors, winning the Frankfurter division with a narrow victory over Pepper also of Toledo. Sammie from Temperance, MI was third.
The big dogs of the Bratwurst division took to the track for their finals without defending division champ, Scout, who was upset in the semi-finals by the rookie, Chloe from Toledo, OH.
Twenty-six pound Chooey from Swanton, OH edged out Chloe in another tight finish to win first place in the Bratwurst division. Willie from Toledo, OH finished third.
