Associate of Applied Business

The Network Systems Administrator Program is designed to prepare the graduate to install, operate and manage network systems and software. A selection of business and technical electives prepare the graduate for a variety of the applications for which networks are developed and maintained. A well-rounded background is developed with the inclusion of general education classes.

This program will prepare a student to enter the computer support field as a network administrator, desktop support technician, computer technician or a help-desk technician. Depending upon the graduate’s background beyond this curriculum, he or she may be ready to accept a position as an entry-level network engineer.

The student completes course work necessary to prepare for CompTIA’s A+ and Network+ certification exams, as well as, the Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST) certification exams.

The Microsoft major student also completes the course work necessary to prepare or Microsoft certification exams required to become a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA), or a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE).

These exams are offered on campus at the Stautzenberger Certification and Testing Center. Experience combined with training may be necessary before the graduate is ready to take the exams.
