Lorenzo admits that school was never his “strong suit”. However, he is an excellent example of how, when you do something you love, it is easier to stay focused. He did it, and he graduated with honors. Lorenzo always wanted to help people, so his interest in Patient Care was a genuine one. He also credits his amazing teacher, Mari Ann Szczublewski with much of his success - claiming she was “the best one he ever had”.

With amazing fortitude, Abena has risen above tragedy to graduate from our program. She has been motivated to keep going after her son’s tragic murder last year. She has started a non-profit in his honor and chosen a career to help people. She was also inspired by her late husband’s passing to take these courses.

Lori Van Liere has been in the education field for her entire career; from specialty educational materials, campus management, to her current position as Corporate Librarian for AHED. Lori earned her B.A. in History from the University of Toledo and her M.L.S from Kent State University.

Kathleen Flynn thought about college like she did her two children - if she could be pregnant for nine months, she could go to college for ten months. She attended Stautzenberger’s Medical Billing and Coding program and found a job with a company she really enjoyed. “Do yourself a favor - change your life.” This inspiring quote pushed Diana to do just that and go back to school to get her certificate in Practical Nursing. Ms. Langford admits that dedication has been a challenge in the past, but with the excellent instructors who helped her through the program, she finally succeeded. She worked through her COVID diagnosis and came out on top. We couldn’t be prouder of her hard work.
